School holidays are when most of our catch-up happens. Here's why two days of focused work can move a child further than a term of weekly sessions — and how to plan ahead.
Why holiday programs work
Weekly sessions are great for steady progress. But for the gap-closing work — catching up on a topic that's been muddled for months — concentrated time is more effective.
Two consecutive days of 3-hour sessions with a small group and the same tutor means children can build momentum in a way that's hard to sustain week-to-week.
It's also when we get to work on the underlying skills — the foundations your child missed — without the pressure of "but we have schoolwork due tomorrow."
What we cover
Each holiday program has a focus:
- April (Autumn): Catch-up on Term 1 gaps
- July (Winter): NAPLAN prep for Year 3 and Year 5
- September/October (Spring): Pre-Term 4 refresher + creative writing
- December/January (Summer): Year-ahead preview
When to book
Bookings open six weeks before each program. We send a reminder to families on our WhatsApp list — message us if you'd like to be added.
The September/October holiday programs are usually the most popular and book out fastest. If you know your child needs a refresh before Term 4, message us in early September.
What's it cost?
Holiday programs are priced per program, not per session. We send a quote when bookings open. Roughly half what three weeks of weekly sessions would add up to.
